THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM COACH (#28)

ARETE

An absolute corner stone to Coach Meyer's program and something that he has passed on to so many is the word ARETE. It deals with the concept of being the best you can possibly be which is a daily journey. Arete is not about a destination -- it's process word not a result word. It is something you must strive for each day in all facets of your life.

From Wikipedia:

Arete (Greek: ἀρετή; pronounced /ˈærəteɪ/ in English), in its basic sense, means "goodness", "excellence" or "virtue" of any kind. In its earliest appearance in Greek, this notion of excellence was bound up with the notion of the fulfillment of purpose or function; the act of living up to one's full potential.
